For the last nine years my family and I have had a tradition where we travel to Jones Family Farm to Pumpkinseed Hill to pick out our carving pumpkins. If you’ve never been I highly recommend it. When we are done picking our pumpkin we take a quick 2 minute drive to the Beardsley Cider Mill for the greatest apple cider donuts you will ever have in your entire life.
Last year during the peak of the pandemic we didn’t feel like we should be around such a large group of people so we grabbed our cider donuts and went looking for a place to sit and enjoy them in a more open space. That is when we discovered the joy that is Indian Wells State Park.
We took a sharp turn off the main road and down a steep hill to the river’s edge and found a stunning beach and no one in sight.
